Ulpa Desai’s ensemble performed at the NCPA – Mumbai in January 2018. Her 1.5hr long pure Gujarati folk dance choreography was performed at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), which is India’s, and entire South Asia’s first of its kind multi-venue, multi-genre cultural centre. Notable performers like Birju Maharaj, M.S. Subbulakshmi, Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi, etc have performed at NCPA.
Ulpa Desai alongwith her troupe performed for the event “Gujarat Darpan 2015” at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The 7 minute long performance portrayed Gujarat, its culture and traditions. This performance took place in the presence of many eminent political figures including Former President - Pranab Mukherjee, Former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, President of BJP – Mr. Amit Shah, etc.
Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is an autonomous organization of the Government of India, involved in India’s external cultural relations, through cultural exchange with other countries & other people. To show case the best of Indian performing & visual arts, the council empanels performing artist who are proficient in their field. Gujarat government cherry picked Ulpa Desai and her troupe to perform at one such event organized by ICCR at as Las Vegas, USA in 2012 and in Vadodara Gujarat, in 2013.
